Game Takeaways

See the biggest statistical differences and what to review next.

After every completed game, PossessionIQ writes a plain-language breakdown: why you won or lost, what went well (yes, even in a loss), and what to work on next — all grounded in the actual box score, not guesswork.

Compare

Compare two groups of games to see what actually changed between them.

Each group shows its game count and record, and PossessionIQ flags it when a group is too small to draw firm conclusions from — like the 1-game Losses sample above.

  • Wins vs. Losses — what separates your wins from your losses.
  • Recent Games — compare your latest 2, 3, or 5 games with the preceding group of the same size, once you've logged 4, 6, or 10 games.
  • Conference vs. Nonconference — how your identity shifts in conference play.

Season Overview

One page covering the whole season, updated every time a game is entered.

Season Overview calls out what's working and what's hurting you in plain language, plus how your recent games compare to earlier ones — record, Offensive & Defensive Rating, Pace, and Four Factors included.

PossessionIQ never oversells a thin sample — it flags it instead. (See "What Changed Recently" above: with 6 games logged, that's a 3-vs-3 comparison, clearly marked as a small sample to treat as an area to review, not a proven trend.)

Player Dashboard

Every player gets their own profile, built from the same box scores you already enter.

Production (PPG/RPG/APG), efficiency (TS%, USG%), automatically surfaced strengths and areas to monitor, season highs, performance trends, and a full game-by-game log — all in one place, without needing to read a glossary first.

PRACTICE, TOO

Make live scrimmages part of the picture.

Keep practice and official games separate. Use both to decide what deserves your staff's attention.

Keep stats the way your team practices.

  • Overall: one box score for the full roster, even when players switch teams.
  • Split Teams: track each side; Overall updates from the same entries.
  • Optional segments: record the full session or individual live periods.
  • Trends and goals: review eligible practice data over time and see Met, Missed, or Unavailable.
  • Templates and player profiles: reuse setups and review individual practice performance.

Estimated possessions support efficiency ratings; practice reports do not need a pace target. Available advanced metrics depend on side detail and recorded inputs.

Next practice: set an efficiency or ball-security goal, reuse your segment setup, and review the next session alongside previous practices.
